This website is a celebration of Sabie’s life, and a way for us to share the love we experienced from all over the world. Friends, relatives, strangers… all came together to buoy us through the most harrowing week of our lives.From the day she was born, Sabie taught all of us what love is about… true, unselfish, no strings attached love. Every smile she made, every sound, every step, everything was special. She was a truly loving baby, and instinctively knew how to make everyone who saw her love her. It was her special gift. Having Sabie in our lives made our life so much richer, because we learned not only to embrace the joy, but we learned how to deal with the pain. All the happiness we had having her for 17 months would have been so easily erased by her passing, but it is through the gift of love that she had given us that losing her became just that little bit easier to accept.
Acceptance, it’s become a huge word for us…. God’s will be done. Coming to terms with what happened and realizing God’s plan wasn’t easy. As a mother I prayed so hard for God to show us a miracle and let Sabie recover, to just give me one more hug, to hear her call me mama again one last time, even just to see her smile, but when the realization came that it wasn’t in His plans, the Lord filled me with so much peace that what is happening is happening for a reason. When the time came for us to say goodbye to Sabie, to wish her safe journey, we were able to do so because we were filled with the realization that this was not goodbye, but just so long, see you again soon. The truth of being a Christian has never been so true to me until that moment. His promise of eternal life and a glorious reunion in heaven gave me the strength to accept what was happening. We hope that through the next few pages, everyone will feel the abundance of love and concern that we were so blessed with during that horrible period.
